Editorial Design: Fall 2019
Placing Privilege is an artist publication addressing binary concepts and portraying them in a new light, this edition of the magazine features 6 artists talking about privilege and what it means to them and their practice.
Through artworks that start discourses, the publication helps us view privilege under a new lens. It's not something that either one possesses or doesn’t, and is not always associated with economic wealth. There are in fact many types of privilege and these can change depending on the social dynamics and location within which the person is located.
While privilege could be prevalent in one place, it could be eliminated completely in another. This is what the publication challenges the reader to think and act upon. It opens up the reader to the multifaceted realm of topics that lie under the term "privilege" that we view with a superficial lens.
